GOP Losing Female Voters

Women voters, notably married moms, are turning away from the ruling Republican Party in the run-up to US legislative elections due, in part, to dissatisfaction with the Iraq war and domestic issues.

Polls and analysts say that unlike the 2002 and 2004 elections, when terrorism concerns and other security-related issues drove many women to support President George W. Bush and his Republican Party, these factors are no longer playing a key role.

"Women voters are turning more Democratic now than they were four years ago," Carroll Doherty, associate director of the Pew Research Center in Washington, told AFP. "Four years ago Republicans were running about even with Democrats among women, but now you see a big gain for the Democrats among women."

Uh, lotsa people are turning away from the GOP.

I've never voted a straight-ticket before, but this year there are a lot more Dems who will get my vote than these so-called Republicans.

I'm actually hoping that the Dems win the House. It would be a nice wake-up call for the GOP, and might just possibly reduce King George's powers.

Small government, my ass.

Want some Miracle Whip to go with that Baloney?

I'm a Republican woman, with lots of Republican women friends, and I don't know anyone who's switching parties, staying home to vote, becoming fed up, or any other such nonsense that Democrats are trying to persuade people into believing.

If terrorism is no longer an issue, then voters must feel safer, which is a reason to vote for Republicans.

You're right. I just actually made up the poll numbers and the Pew Center. Hell, I made up Yahoo News as well. Really, they don't exist. You caught us red-handed in our liberal agenda. Go call Rush and let him know.

I would also note that GoReporter isn't even what you would call far right. She's -so far- right that she's practically left.

Still, I can see where she might think her and "lots" of her friends is somehow indicative of the entire nation. Nothing like a little anecdotal evidence to prove a point.

It makes sense that women would leave the GOP. They're not stupid.

Well, maybe GoReporter, but I'm still not sure she's not doing it just to make a spectacle of herself.
